I have eight years' experience working in the sector, including ESOL coordination, asylum casework and awareness raising. I joined Refugee Action in 2017 to coordinate and develop Merseyside Asylum Guides, and latterly to improve access to justice for vulnerable migrants through second tier support.

I love music (playing it, making it, hearing it) and exploring/sitting around in natural landscapes.

I have worked in the humanitarian sector for twelve years focusing on protection and mental health, including four years in Jordan supporting the Syria crisis response. I am particularly interested in individual and collective care, as well as trauma informed approaches to service delivery.

I enjoy reading non-fiction, exploring the North Norfolk coast and am studying a part-time Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

A long time ago I worked for the Immigration Advisory Service at an immigration detention centre where I helped people with their asylum claims, bail applications and other immigration problems.

I have worked and volunteered in the sector for over twenty years in community development, volunteer coordination and service management. I am especially passionate about co-production and tackling inequality.

I love rock climbing, yoga and am a board director for Healthy Me Healthy Communities.

I have a degree in South Asian Studies and Hindi from SOAS, University of London, and have a background in the international arts industry including refugee work.

I enjoy walking, travelling, drawing patterns, Persian miniature painting, and studying Middle Eastern culture.

I have a degree in International Politics and a masters in Global Conflict & Peace Processes. For six years I've worked in the international sector, supporting peacebuilding programmes (Balkans, South Asia, South Caucasus) with a focus on inclusion and participation.

I love climbing, mountaineering and open water swimming (the colder the better). I am supporting the setup of a new charity, Our Shared Outdoors, that aims to increase access to the outdoors.

I love growing vegetables and flowers, walking and running with friends and family, and am a trustee of Solace Leeds.

I have a diverse background of technical and social skills; a master’s degree in development studies with over 7 years of experience in the sector. Having travelled and lived in many countries I speak several languages and have the experience of working in multi-cultural environments.

I enjoy reading historical fiction, Persian poetry, physics, philosophy….and when I am not reading, I am practicing yoga, going on hikes with my dog, travelling and discovering new culinary delights.
