Stronger Communities North East

Increasing access to community-based immigration advice in the North East

What we are offering

We are running a 3-year programme called Stronger Communities to provide intensive support for two community partners per year in the North East, a region identified as a legal aid ‘desert’.

The programme includes developing organisational needs assessments and action plans, running quarterly mentoring meetings, and providing bespoke support to strengthen partner immigration advice capacity. A sub-grant of £5,000 for each of the 6 partners will enable them to give their staff time to engage in our training and support, and to help maintain their services.

Year 1 (2025-26)

In Year 1 (2025-26), we are delighted to be working with Action Foundation and Communities Together Durham.

Year 2 & Year 3

Onboarding is currently closed, and will open again in 2026.
