Stronger Communities North East
Increasing access to community-based immigration advice in the North East

What we are offering
We are running a 3-year programme called Stronger Communities to provide intensive support for two community partners per year in the North East, a region identified as a legal aid ‘desert’. Our aim is to enabling grassroots organisations to cultivate their own immigration advice and support skills
Our support to partners includes:
- A sub-grant of £5,000 enabling organisations to give their staff time to engage in our training and support, and to help maintain their services
- Developing organisational needs assessments and action plans
- Quarterly mentoring meetings
- Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) training at levels 1 and 2+
- Help to register with the IAA
- Study support for IAA assessments
- Bespoke support to strengthen immigration advice capacity
